Here We Go

October 31, 2010

Lupe Fiasco – The Show Goes On. Just like the whistling in “Home” below, you will find yourself singing the chorus to this over and over. Shame that Lupe’s album has been held back for so long, though.
Generationals – Trust. Check it out over at 32ft/second

Martin Solveig – Hello

Beach House – White Moon (JAQUES Remix). Check it out over at the needle drop

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros – Home (Fromage Disco Edit)

Oh Land – Son of a Gun

Chris Brown – Deuces (Remix Feat. Drake, T.I., Kanye West, Fabolous, Andre 3000 & Rick Ross)

Music that’s a little bit cheeky, a little bit chill, and way too catchy not to post.

Brazilian Girls – Pussy

Cee Lo Green – Fuck You (Le Castle Vania Remix)

Rihanna – Only Girl (Paul David and Barletta Remix)

Mark Ronson & The Business Intl – Bang Bang Bang (feat. MNDR & Q-Tip)

Can’t wait for Rihanna and Kid Cudi albums to drop in early November.

Fresh Mix

October 13, 2010

So I’ve been a bit behind so here is a whole lot of tracks all at once. Enjoy. I really don’t know what my favourite genre is…looking over the few posts so far it’s hard to pin it down so I hope people reading the site are as like-minded and a bit all over the place like me. Here’s hoping…

Kid Cudi feat. Snoop Dogg – I Do My Thing. Personally his best tracks are from Man on the Moon: The End of the Day and his early mixtape A Kid Named Cudi as they were a bit more upbeat, but I love the diversity of Cudi. One minute, “REVOFEV”, one minute, “Highs and Lows”.

Chiddy Bang – The Good Life. If Pharrell is producing, you wanna be sure to grab the track and you will not regret it.

Ellie Goulding (Chiddy Bang Remix) – Under The Sheets

Cee Lo Green- Fuck You (Chiddy Bang Remix). I am so thankful he jumped on the Cee Lo hit and remixed the track, I don’t think I can stand the original any more.

Notorious B.I.G. – Sky’s the Limit (Xaphoon Jones Remix)

Aeroplane vs Friendly Fires vs Flight Facilities – I Crave Paris which I read about here. Flight Facilities are a Sydney group that you won’t be able to find a whole lot of information about, but with songs of the calibre of “Crave You”, that anonymity is sure to fade away. Hope to hear more tracks from these guys soon.

Edward Maya ft. Vika Jigulina – Stereolove.

Chiddy Bang has been playing heavily on my stereo over the past couple of months, if it’s not already obvious. His EP The Preview dropped early October in Australia, and hopefully will do until The Swelly Life is released in 2011.

So I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to writing, so this post I guess is to make me put up more of the music that I’ve wanted to post but without knowing what to say about it.

Anyway, it’s late and uni is a killer. I saw this photo below on flickr and thought of the Corona tagline: from where you’d rather be… Oh is that truer than ever.

The Temper Trap – Rest

October 5, 2010

Conditions is an amazing debut album by The Temper Trap. “Rest” has been playing on my iPod constantly for the past few weeks, and deservedly so. It builds perfectly and the heavy chorus although a bit intense is one where you can let yourself go. I don’t think this song really makes you feel anything in particular…but it probably just exaggerates whatever you’re feeling at the point in time. If there’s a lot on your mind the long drawn out vocals will make you think even more, but if you throw this track on when you want to wind down then it works too.

Today

October 1, 2010

Listening to a bit of Aussie hip-hop recently and I keep coming back to the idea of just living in the moment, and not worrying about things that may seem to be a bit overwhelming right now…you’ll look back later and wonder what all the fuss was about.

Tomorrow is another today,

But there ain’t no other today. (Muph and Plutonic – “Today”)

So just sit back and enjoy the times where you have a few beers in the sun and enjoy.
